Objectives
Develop the Space Cyber Range as a comprehensive simulation environment for testing space technologies, ensuring scalability and resilience. It will consolidate components and tools from various providers onto a user-friendly platform.
Challenges
The key challenges of the project include the lack of common standards across different components and the necessity for rapid updates to the Space Cyber Range to address emerging threats effectively.
System Architecture
The Cyber Range architecture/system can be divided into five main layers/components:
- Infrastructure
- Cyber Range Platform
- Gamenet
- Scenarios
- Use cases
The planned technology will rely on the fully functional Cyber Range platform from CybExer Technologies (including Portal, VLM, VLM-UP, ISA, self-study platform) as well as Spaceit mission operations platform, satellite and ground station simulators. Additionally, several third-party technologies from well-established space-related organisations.
Plan
The activity will last for 25 months and consists of three phases: Technology, Product, and Demonstration.
Current Status
The project kickoff was on 18 February 2025.
