ESA’s currently-flying Artemis testbed has been designed to be the most advanced telecommunications satellite built yet. The 3100 kg spacecraft includes both radio frequency and laser inter-satellite linkage capability and an L-band transmission system for mobile communication, which is able to handle up to 662 voice channels simultaneously.
